Inauguration of Iran’s first super heavy crude oil refinery

The first phase of the first super heavy crude oil refinery in the country was inaugurated yesterday in the presence of the President in the Qeshm Free Zone.

According to Bazaar News, at the same time with the opening of the first phase of Pars Behin Qeshm Oil Refining Company, 35,000 barrels of our country’s super-heavy crude oil are converted into petroleum products including bitumen, naphtha, diesel and light oil.

50% of the refinery products of this huge complex on Qeshm Island will be converted to bitumen and another 50% to light oil fields including naphtha, diesel and light oil, and all these products will be exported 100% to different countries.

The second phase of this refinery complex is under construction with 20% physical progress, which will increase the daily production of refinery products to 70,000 barrels per day.

The annual value added of petroleum products of this important refinery of our country in Qeshm is estimated at $ 857 million, which is an important currency for the country.

According to the refinery experts, one million tons of bitumen and 5.6 (six and a half) million barrels of petroleum products such as naphtha, diesel and light oil will be produced annually for export.

The opening of the first phase of the refinery, with a $ 219 million investment from the Pasargad Energy Development Group, has provided direct employment for 500 workers and 1,000 indirectly.

Qeshm’s share in the refining field of the country with the opening of this refinery is about 35%.

Following his provincial trips, the President arrived in Bandar Abbas, the capital of Hormozgan province, together with a number of ministers of the 13th cabinet, and arrived in Qeshm Island yesterday to inaugurate the first phase of the country’s first super-heavy crude oil refinery.
